Who we are?
Support for the Elderly is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization yet to be registered and recognized by the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Agency (SRRA) in the new Sudan. It was founded by a female Sudanese intellectual after seeing the devastating lifestyle of the elderly in the Nuba Mountains; hence her passion for care and compassion for sharing God’s love, through the elderly prompted her through her experience working with National and International Organizations, she ought to elevate the living integrity of the most vulnerable in her community. The organization was initiated in January 2024 to provide, God’s love through Ministry (Evangelism), Elder rights and Advocacy programs, Nutrition, Older persons care and support development programs, and Health and Environmental Services. Community Resources in the Nuba Mountains to transform their lives and ensure quality of life and well-being,
Why SFEO was initiated?
SFEO was initiated to bridge the gap of the increasing inequality older people in the communities face, we believe aging well is something every person deserves. This conviction came after a historic war that separated the initiator away from her community to exile since Sudan was at war with itself and the Nuba mountains in particular were neglected and given no or little attention especially the provision of services to the elderly, prompted her to serve her community of the Nuba Mountains, after seeing the despair of the elderly men and women hence this made her come back to give and render her service to the community.
